Saving A Soul

It was last year, on All Soul's Day. Yes the memory is still fresh as if it had happened yesterday.

All Soul's Day also known as the Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed is a day of Prayer and remembrance for the Souls of those gone before us, which is observed by the Catholic Faithful. Its a day of obligation where Catholics are encouraged to attend the Holy Eucharist Celebration(Holy Mass).

Personally the Mass gives me that reality check that one day just one day I will leave this earth and go back to my maker and that goes for all of us. And on that particular day the Priest encouraged to pray for a peaceful death.

After Mass I bumped into a great friend of mine, as we were walking & catching up, a  man approached us and asked us where City Park was, my friend didn't have an idea I on the other hand knew the Park so well as it was in my neighborhood, but I couldn't help but think of why he would be going there yet it was around 6pm and we are living in times of curfew. We brushed the idea away and continued chatting as the Man walked in front of us my friend noticed the Man had a sisal rope in his back pocket which meant SUICIDE 😭😭😭😭😢😢 truthfully I don't think I have such observational skills. As we tried catching up with him we noticed another lady had stopped him and was engaging him, I later found out that the lady & I had attended the same University and truly we shared mutual friends. Indeed what a REUNION 😂😂😂. This world is small.

After the guy narrating his story and the reason to take his life, we three ladies decided to take action. He informed us that his rural home was in the Coastal region, so we decided to book him a bus to travel home & the best part was that he surrendered the rope which we later disposed while saying a prayer.

To cut the long story short after a few days later we each got a text message that he had arrived safely back home. And that is how a Soul was saved on all Souls Day.

This year(2021) let us be observant & be our brother's keeper.
