Lockdown Shenanigans ... ...

I used the word shenanigans, because I have a friend(It's at Cess) who simply laughs and makes fun to the fact that I can't pronounce the word shenanigans well if I cant say it I surely can spell it 😁

Ooh yes, here in +254 we are back to lockdownπŸ˜₯😦😧and why it had happened during Easter again is indeed a wonder and a story for another day. The world was introduced to this terminology last year (March) when the world was hit by the Covid -19 Pandemic or some refer to it as a Plandemic. In simple  terms a lockdown is a state of isolation or restricted.

But let me say this, I look back when we went on a Lockdown last year for almost six monthsπŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺ yes six(6) months of just staying indoors. Indeed there are positive aspects of it or memories worth remembering.

Before Lockdown my dearest mummy used to think that my sister & I really don't know much about cooking. A culture began on Social Media of people posting their lockdown cooking skills. My sister & I weren't spared either. It was as simple as seeing a post that fascinates you and the following day trying it out or just thinking of that one thinking you enjoying eating and just cooking it out. I tried everything I could including doughnuts which i plan to perfect soon.

Every single day my mama got fascinated, amazed & she confessed indeed we can be a force to reckon with. This is how my sister began her baking business πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ and I accepted my fate that flour & me we are friends but not best friends if you know you truly know hihihihihi.

You see before the Lockdown I had tried everything to shed a few kilos from workouts, diets you just name it. As people were being encouraged to stay indoors during lockdown, there was a wave of morning jogs/runs including workouts that hit the country, all of a sudden everyone was keeping fit. And the wave didn't spare our household. My two good friends shared a workout video(Gospel Burnout) the aim was just to do it as a challenge and post, but I guess I enjoyed the workout song (Mkono wa Bwana) and it became my everyday routine and a I recruited my dearest mother. And for sure the results were so visible.

I tell for sure without a shadow of doubt if it were not for Lockdown we wouldn't have embraced technology welcome to the world of Zoom, Google meet, blue Jeans which ushered us to the Virtual world. And the world has positively adopted you do meetings or attend class at the comfort of your house. We had to do those Baby/Bridal showers vie ZoomπŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜₯and just learn creativity.

There is this habit human beings have that when faced with a challenge or during hardships it's the time they turn to God.  And truly I tell you beginning of  lockdown everyone began praying asking God to just take away Covid -19 so we could go back to business as usual. Spirituality was strengthened, as the physical ⛪ we used to go to as a routine or take it for granted (Lord forgive us πŸ™)was no more πŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺπŸ˜ͺ Virtual church become the new norm and we all longed for such a time when we would go back to physical church there is is just something about physical fellowship with your brothers & sisters in Christ. No one ever imagined the church doors would close. Because the church is where we go for spiritual nourishment and uplifting of our spirits when we are low it's our go to place. Our Social media platforms on Sundays were filled with online live services, or links to join church service.

And did I tell you people learnt how to utilize their skills for commercial benefits, on my status almost all my contacts were selling something meaning the entrepreneurial spirit had been awakened.

So my dear fellow Kenyans πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚another Lockdown, let's focus on the positive aspect of it. But let's remember that it's you & I who will have to fight this by wearing our masks, Social Distance, avoiding crowds and washing hands.
