Celebrating A Hero!

As I post this its been about 45 days since Our Hero Passed on.

I grew up during the Era of President Moi - the Man that was popularly referred to as Nyayo and was associated with  carrying a 'Rungu' (a wooden throwing club). He was the Man behind Nyayo Milk, though I never got to drink it. He is the Man that ruled Kenya for 24 Years with two attempted coups, it was a thirst for change.

I remember the day so clearly it was on 30th December 2002, the third president Mwai Kibaki was being sworn in. Those were the days Kenyan elections were conducted in December.

Clearly I remember I was sitting on the couch watching the events as they unfolded on our Great Wall television, I always sat next to the T.V because those days we changed the channels using the buttons on the tv there were no remote controls🤣🤣🤣that was enough exercise walking from the chair to the tv so sitting next to it was a well thought plan 😉and the children were the remote controls those days you had to stand pressing the buttons to change the channels until your parents settled on a Channel to watch hahahahaha every family had this tv......truly grateful for technology today.

It was at Uhuru Park millions of Kenyans had gathered to witness in amazement this historic day when power would exchange hands marking the end of a 24 year rule. It was a New Dawn for this Nation.  It was indeed a day worth being written in the history books of this Nation.

The crowds shouted 'Yote yawezekana bila Moi' (All is possible without Moi), this reminds me when the crowds shouted 'Crucify Him Crucify Him'. He (Moi) handed power peacefully something that shocked many. In return his successor protected his wealth.

The 3rd President the Man who revived Our Economy, the one who introduced free primary education, making a dream a reality for every child to attain basic education. He is the Man who made the Impossible to become Possible in this Nation.

He died at the age of 90 surpassing the 80 years as promised by the Scriptures.

Rest Well Our Hero.
